Update on bus departures
May 6 and join the tour to Kedrion
You can plan to arrive Pisa Sunday May 6, 2007 and join the tour to Kedrion on Monday morning May 7. Bus will depart from the railway station in Pisa at 08.15. After the tour of the Kedrion site, the bus will head back to Pisa, to pick up other quests at the airport at 15.30. The bus will then continue to Piombino and the ferry ride across to Elba and arrive at the Hermitage Resort in the Bay of Biodola in the evening for check in and dinner. The
bus transport Pisa to Elba and return is included in the registration fee. However, we will charge a nominal fee of €30 per person for the side trip to Kedrion.
Monday May 7, 08.15 Bus departs from railway station in Pisa to Kedrion. In the afternoon the bus will head back, stop shortly at the airport in Pisa to pick up more passengers and then continue to Elba, arriving Hermitage at 18.45
If you will not join the tour to Kedrion, you can arrive Pisa on Monday May7. Bus transport is provided with departure from the airport at 15.30 in the afternoon. Return bus transport wil be on Saturday May 12 with departure Elba at 06.45 with arrival Pisa airport at 10.15. Make sure your flight is scheduled to leave after 12.00.
Monday May 7, 15.30 Bus departs from Pisa airport for Elba, arrival Hermitage at at 18.45
You can also arrive Pisa Tuesday May 8. Bus transport is provided with departure from the airport at 14.30 in the afternoon. Return bus transport wil be on Saturday May 12 with departure Elba at 06.45 with arrival Pisa airport at 10.15. Make sure your flight is scheduled to leave after 12.00.

Return bus transport wil be on Saturday May 12 with departure Elba at 06.45 with arrival Pisa airport at 10.15. Make sure your flight is scheduled to leave after 12.00. Possibility now exists to leave one hour earlier at 05.45 to arrive Pisa airport at 09.15. A minivan will be used with limited number of seats.

From the North of Italy: from Milano take the A1 motorway, change to the A15 at Parma Ovestto join the A12 Genova-Livorno-Rosignano, exit at Rosignano. Continue on dual-carriageway as far as the right-hand sign to "Venturina/Isola d'Elba". Continue on the main road until you reach Piombino Marittima/Portoferraio.
From the North-East: Take the A1 motorway Bologna-Firenze. At the exit Firenze Nord take the A11 motorway-asfar as Migliarino, where you continue on the A12 motorway, towards Livorno. Exit at Rosignano and continue asabove.
Alternatively, continue on the A1 motorway until Firenze-Signa exit, take the S.G.C. (not a motorway but a very good road) Firenze-Pisa-Livorno as far as Collesalvetti. At Collesalvetti exit re-join the motorway A12 and exit at Rosignano, then take the dual carriageway as above down to Piombino.
From the South: Take the A12 Roma-Grosseto, continue on the main road "the Aurelia": exit at Venturina-Isola d'Elba then follow as above for Piombino.

The railway line to suggest is Genova-Roma, where you can find the connections to Piombino marittima at Campiglia station. The train station of Piombino Marittima is 50 meters away from the ferry departures.
Ferry from Piombino to Portoferraio
Car ferry runs frequently (once an hour) during the season from Piombino on the mainland to Portoferraio on Elba. The trip takes 1 hour with full service on board. If you are driving make
sure you reserve space for your car both ways well inadvance.
